WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 - Secretary of State Colin Powell's former chief of staff has offered a remarkably blunt criticism of the administration he served, saying that foreign policy had been usurped by a "Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal," and that President Bush has made the country more vulnerable, not less, to future crises.

Again, like the transcript of the hersh/ritter conversation on Bushie intent regarding wmd & Iraq - I think things like this are significant in the main because they show the ebb of the proganda rhetoric lock that has been in place for four years. It's like - duh. But it's also like, 'oh, the authorized figures in establishment can now speak really bluntly and get quoted in the paper-of-record?' I feel like it lets one breath a little easier, and seems more like a return to the polity protocols pre-world-falling-apart.
