From
Japan, via Yaohan Plaza (now Mitsua Plaza) in Edgewater, New Jersey,
comes "CuteHoney". I had no idea what "CuteyHoney" was,
but guessed that it was a cartoon aimed at young girls.
It was the the present of "Escort Honey" that sold me.
While I'm sure that
by "escort" they really mean "flight attendant",
it creates the notion that these cuties may be prostitutes doing
fantasy role-play for their Johns.
Apparently
that isn't far from the truth. Since my posting of this, a friend
advised me that CuteyHoney is softcore anime porn. According to
him, CuteyHoney is a superheroine who "changes into the different
outfits to get powers, and there's a prolonged nude scene during
each changing where she basically spins around naked for awhile."
This
makes things a little weirder than I thought, because I am absolutely
positive this notebook is marketed to younger teenage girls.
Each ruled page is pink with little hearts and various images
of CuteyHoney with her sword. It was nestled among Hello Kitty
and other girlie things. Who's more twisted, the Americans
or the Japanese?
